Mind maps are pictorial representations of novel ideas, facts and logic and keywords linked with each other around a central topic. We should draw the core keyword at the page centre and place the associated keywords which rely on the priorities of the learner.


By doing so, we can envision the ideas graphically and creatively which can be applied for the problems we face in our day to day life. The mind map can be applied to various areas like writing, learning, art, music, creative thinking, brainstorming, planning, problem solving, decision making etc. We can use the mind map for planning a weekend trip, for describing the life of an important personality like Robert Frost, for making business presentations, drawing organizational charts and in brainstorming sessions for solving a complex problem or generating new ideas on a particular subject.

We should be aware of very simple steps for creating mind maps and if we are clear with our ideas, we can make good mind maps. We should know how to equalize the usage the words, colors and pictures so that the ideas can be identified and understood easily. We should draw the central keyword as a picture at the central portion of the mind map and place the keywords associated in form of pictures or words.


We can use images in three dimensional forms as they have good impression on human brain making it easy for us to remember the facts for longer duration. We should avoid more keywords and use pictures whenever possible as it is more powerful and can be stored in our mind easily. In order to draw good mind maps, we should have complete involvement while doing it so that it can be filled with fun and joy. By adhering to such simple rules, we can come up with amazing mind maps which will let us explore the gray regions of our mind and enhance our mental potential to maximum limits.
